The Kazakhstan-Hamburg Investment Roundtable was held in Hamburg

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almas Aidarov and Chairman of the Board of "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC Meirzhan Yussupov participated in the Kazakhstan-Hamburg Investment Roundtable "Growth of Central Asia Region - Logistics, Energy, and Industry in Kazakhstan" with representatives of the German business, held in Hamburg. The event aimed at expanding trade and investment relations between Kazakh and German business representatives.

The roundtable became a platform for discussions on strengthening mutual trade and investment between Kazakhstan and Germany with a focus on strengthening economic ties and exploring new business opportunities. Participants familiarized themselves with Kazakhstan's potential in the areas of logistics, energy, and industry, and were presented with the advantages of investing in Kazakhstan, the country's export potential, considering its strategic location as a country connecting large markets - Europe and Asia.

Almas Aidarov highlighted in his speech that Germany is an important strategic partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union. According to him, economic and investment relations between the countries have great potential for development, as evidenced by the increase in trade between Hamburg and Kazakhstan last year by 73%, from 145 million euros to 250 million euros.

Meirzhan Yussupov spoke about the priority sectors of the economy for implementing projects, preferences provided by the Kazakh government, and invited German companies to invest in Kazakhstan.

Mirco Nowak, Chairman of the Eastern Europe Working Group of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce in his speech noted that 160 Hamburg companies have business ties with Kazakhstan, 29 of them have their branches, offices, or production facilities in Kazakhstan. The volume of exports from Hamburg to Kazakhstan, according to him, is 204 million euros.

During their visit to Hamburg, the Kazakh delegation held meetings with German companies, and discussed with the President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, Norbert Aust, the implementation of projects in transportation and logistics, industry and machinery, energy, raw material partnerships, and IT.

A meeting was held with the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Climate of Aurubis AG, Ulf Gehrckens, to discuss the possibility of implementing projects in the mining and metallurgical sector, particularly in the processing of colored and rare metals. Aurubis AG is the largest producer of copper in Europe and the largest company in the world for secondary processing of copper.

The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Germany, KAZAKH INVEST, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hamburg as part of the Kazakhstan Economic Day in Germany.
