KAZAKH INVEST Participates in Kazakhstan-Pakistan Business Forum in Karachi

The Kazakhstan–Pakistan Business Forum was held in Karachi as part of the official and business delegation visit of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, development institutions, national companies, and leading business associations of both countries. In total, the forum gathered over 150 delegates.

From the Kazakh side, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" Azamat Kozhanov participated in the forum and delivered a presentation on Kazakhstan’s investment potential. In his speech, he briefed participants on the state's investor support measures, opportunities in key economic sectors, and the work of KAZAKH INVEST in providing one-stop-shop project facilitation services.

"Today, Kazakhstan and Pakistan are entering a new stage of economic engagement. We see significant potential for joint projects in agri-processing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, logistics, and the development of industrial zones. Kazakhstan offers Pakistani companies access to major markets, favorable localization conditions, and comprehensive government support. We are open to working systematically with Pakistani businesses and are ready to support projects at all stages. We are already facilitating negotiations between one of Pakistan’s largest companies and a Kazakh fertilizer producer to establish a joint venture," noted Azamat Kozhanov.

Other speakers at the forum included Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev, Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Investment Coordinator Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin, and Pakistan’s Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, among other officials.

The event featured B2B meetings between businesses of both countries, discussing opportunities in industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, medicine and pharmaceuticals, finance, and investment.

Particular focus was placed on the development of industrial zones and deeper trade and economic ties. One of the key areas of cooperation with Pakistan remains the development of logistics routes between the two countries. Work in this direction is being pursued systematically: while earlier transport discussions were held in Islamabad, this time they continued in Karachi — Pakistan’s largest trade and port hub. The parties discussed connecting Kazakh exporters to Pakistan’s port infrastructure and expanding multimodal links under the “Central Asia–South Asia” corridor.

As part of the visit, Azamat Kozhanov also took part in the Intergovernmental Commission meeting and held talks with the leadership of Fauji Fertilizer Company Ltd (FFC), one of Pakistan’s largest industrial groups specializing in fertilizer production and part of the Fauji Foundation. The discussions focused on an investment project to create a joint venture with the Kazakh side for the production of potash fertilizers, including processing the Satimola deposit and launching deliveries to Pakistan. The supply potential is estimated at up to 200,000 tons per year starting in 2030. FFC also expressed interest in establishing a trading house and developing logistics infrastructure to ensure stable deliveries.

The business forum served as an important step in strengthening Kazakhstan–Pakistan partnership and opened new opportunities for the implementation of joint investment initiatives.
