Aqmola Invest Opened in Astana
On July 9 this year, Astana hosted the opening of the Aqmola Invest Investment Development Center under the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry of the Akmola region with the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nazira Nurbayeva, Akim of the Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov, Hungarian Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Otto Ivan Rona, Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” Yerzhan Yelekeyev and the Regional Director of the national company Bakhytzhan Sapar. Several bilateral documents on cooperation and implementation of investment projects totaling 76 billion tenge were signed during the event.
Speaking with a welcoming speech, N. Nurbayeva stressed the critical role of front offices in attracting investments, creating a favorable investment climate, and enhancing investment activities in the regions.
“Akmola region has a huge potential for attracting investments due to its natural resources, agro-industrial complex and favorable geographical location. The region has grown significantly in attracting foreign direct investment in recent years. Thus 2022, the inflow amounted to $376.3 million, and in 2023 – $425.7 million. We are confident that with the opening of the Aqmola Invest front office, this figure will only grow,” the Deputy Minister said.
In turn, B. Sapar explained that, in cooperation with the new front office, KAZAKH INVEST would provide methodological support and target orders for investments from the region through a network of foreign representatives and institutions.
“We strive to create the most comfortable conditions for investors by offering them a wide range of services – from assistance in paperwork, granting preferences to assistance in finding partners and establishing business contacts,” the Regional Director noted.
The main task of the new front office is to ensure direct and effective communication between foreign investors and local enterprises, as well as providing them with comprehensive support at all stages of the implementation of investment projects. To date, 23 meetings have been held on the site of the Center in a pilot mode, 13 of them with foreign participation.
