South Korean Сompanies to Modernize Kazakhstan's Power Plants

Following the meeting, Sungat Yessimkhanov, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, HongYoun Kim, President of KEPCO, JungKwan Kim, Senior Vice President of Doosan Enerbility, and Daulet Saktaganov, foreign representative of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KEPCO and Doosan Enerbility.

According to the document, South Korean KEPCO and Doosan Enerbility intend to implement a project to inspect and further modernize the plants of Astana, Almaty, Pavlodar, and GRES Topar. The companies plan to use innovative environmental solutions to increase the productivity of power plants.

"The environmental solutions of KEPCO and Doosan Enerbility are optimal solutions for the government of Kazakhstan, which seeks to reduce the level of air pollution in the country. After signing this memorandum, we will work together to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly energy projects in Kazakhstan," said JungKwan Kim

South Korea is a leading specialist in the development of green energy solutions and technology transfer to foreign countries. For example, South Korea has built the first nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates and has already launched three of the planned four power units.
