Aktobe region was founded on March 10, 1932. The region consists of 12 districts, 8 towns , 141 rural districts and 410 villages.

Area is located in two parts of the world : Europe and Asia. The length of territory from north to south is about 700 km and from east to west is about 800 km. Region is the second largest region of Kazakhstan, its area is 300.6 thousand square km, it is about 11 % of the country . Aktobe region borders with six regions of Kazakhstan , and with the Orenburg region (Russia) in the north and the south - Karakalpakstan region (Uzbekistan).

Population of the region is 807 900 people. Administrative center is the city Aktobe , where are about 420 000 people.
The population density is about 2.3 people per 1 sq. m.
The volume of gross regional product for the first 9 months of 2013 amounted to 1 193 256.3 million tenge (7 850 000 billion dollars).
In the production of the gross regional product the largest share in the industry - 40.0%.
Gross regional product per capita was 1490.7 thousand tenge (U.S. $ 9 807).

2013 year indicates the achievement of all key parameters of social and economic development of the region .
Volume of retail trade turnover amounted to 242.7 billion tenge, or 121.1%, indicating an increase in consumer demand in the region.
Economic growth in the region adequately reflected in the social sphere: Average monthly wage (December 2013.) - 127,695 tenge (U.S. $ 840).
Aktobe region is the most attractive of the regions in Kazakhstan. Using these features , the region aims to increase their competitiveness , primarily by attracting investments to the development of industries with high added value .
Aktobe region with its unique natural resources and developed industrial potential , with its favorable geographical position and the transport and communication systems is relates to the most attractive investment regions of Kazakhstan.
