MEXICAN ENTREPRENEURS WANT TO SUPPLY FRUIT AND VEG TO KAZAKHSTAN

Mexico is interested in establishing contacts with entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan, as reported by MIA "DKNews" citing Kazpravda.kz, which reported that the Foreign Ministry briefed the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Mexico, Andrian Yelemesov.

In his speech, Yelemesov noted that the government of Mexico views Kazakhstan as one of the leading countries in the Central Asian region, and its head of state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, as a strong and visionary leader. Mexico became one of the first countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to support the candidacy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the post of non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2017-2018.

The Ambassador was informed about the high interest of Mexican entrepreneurs in the supply of vegetables and fruits to Kazakhstan, as well as investment in the mining and metallurgical industry, the purchase of Kazakh grain, coal, chemical products, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Yelemesov also spoke about the idea of forming a group of "friends of Kazakhstan", consisting of Mexican and Russian entrepreneurs and investors.

"This group should analyse and develop the Road Map, which will include the entire list of goods of interest, possible shipping routes and the final cost of the goods themselves," the ambassador said.

In 2016, the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to $ 66 million, the RK MFA noted.

"Recently a group of Mexican entrepreneurs have been visiting the food production and supply networks in Astana, as well as shopping centres, to study the range and prices of goods. They have also met with the leadership of the ministries and departments of Kazakhstan and various national companies," reported the press service of the foreign ministry.
