KAZAKH INVEST took part in the 2nd China - Kazakhstan Industrial and Investment Cooperation Forum
As part of the 11th China Overseas Investment Fair, the Second China -Kazakhstan Forum on Industrial and Investment Cooperation held. The Forum was co-sponsored by the China Overseas Development Association (under China's NDRC) and KAZAKH INVEST.
Birzhan Kaneshev, Vice-President of KAZAKH INVEST, made a welcoming speech at the Forum and presented the participants with information about the investment potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the Forum, the following speakers were Deputy Secretary-General of the China's National Development and Reform Commission Su Wei, the Counsellor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan to China Sultan Kinzhakulov, representatives of financial institutions - Deputy Director of the China Development Bank's International Cooperation Department Peng Dongmei, Deputy General Manager of Silk Road Fund Wang Dan, Deputy General Director of Astana International Exchange Wan Jianqiang, and company executives - Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Qin Junman, China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corp. Deputy General Manager Qi Jianhua, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universal Energy Nan Yi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Golden Camel Group Yang Jie, Chairman of the Board of Yichang KELISON Industrial.
Additionally, at the Forum, the information has been presented on the cooperation of Kazakhstani and Chinese financial institutions in co-financing important Kazakhstani industrial projects in oil and gas, metallurgy, agriculture and the food industry, prospects for cooperation within the framework of Astana AIFC and new instruments to attract financing at Astana International Exchange (AIX).
In turn, the top managers of Chinese companies shared their experience in implementing construction and investment projects in Kazakhstan, namely: food industry (production of milk powder), metallurgy, oil refining, renewable energy, construction of infrastructure facilities and others.
In total, the Forum was attended by more than 200 representatives of Chinese companies, including companies that have already invested in Kazakhstani projects, as well as companies interested in the market of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
