5 documents have been signed under the Kazakh-Ukrainian Business Forum
Today, Astana has witnessed the Kazakh-Ukrainian Business Forum under the first formal visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Mr. Nikolay Azarov with the participation of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Mr. Karim Massimov and business representatives of both states.
The Forum has been arranged by KAZNEX INVEST National Agency on Export and Investment of the Ministry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan with the participation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan.
Business event has resulted in signing of the number of bilateral economical documents. Particularly, an agreement on co-production and after-sale service of АN-140-100 aircrafts in Kazakhstan has been concluded between AeroKZ LLP and Antonov State Aircraft Manufacturing Concern. Ukraine International Airlines and SCAT Airline JSC have concluded special prorate agreement that will enable to set special cheaper rates for passengers.
Furthermore, NC KTZh JSC and Ukrainian-Kazakh JV Kazkompressormash have signed memorandum on delivery of compressor units in 2012-2013 and increase of Kazakh content under the Forum, and agreement of understanding and mutual cooperation in pursuing the charter activity purposes has been concluded between the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists and Association of Economists of Kazakhstan and the Union of Economists of Ukraine. The Kazakh-Ukrainian Association of Entrepreneurs will be established as agreed by businessmen of both countries.
Ukraine is one of the main trade partners of Kazakhstan in the CIS. Foreign trade turnover is 3,479.1 mln USD (export is 2,212.2 mln USD, import is 1,266.9 mln USD) for the quarter III of 2011. Mineral commodities, metals, chemical products are traditionally exported from Kazakhstan to Ukraine. Food commodities, cars, equipment, transport means, devices and tools, metals and metal products, chemical products, wood, timber, pulp and paper products are imported from Ukraine to Kazakhstan.
Over 250 joint ventures with the participation of Ukrainian capital operate in Kazakhstan. The ventures are mainly involved in distributive industries, car and motorcycle service, construction and processing industries.
Gross inflow of direct investments from Ukraine to Kazakhstan is 20.6 mln USD from 2001 to the quarter I of 2011.
“Development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ukraine is to be promising in such industries as metallurgy, electric-power, chemical, mining and food industries, and machine industry as well. We also have invited Ukrainian businessmen to participate in implementing the projects in Khorgos SEZ. The Agency is ready to offer cooperation in each industry as part of the State Program of Forced Industrial and Innovative Development and provide investors with full service support according one stop shopping principle”, Managing Director of KAZNEX INVEST Mr. Ardak Dossanov said.
